Shipping Guide

Shipping policy on Nora Thread marketplace is vendor-based. This is because Nora Thread is a global marketplace which is open to vendors worldwide to sell on and buyers worldwide to buy from. This (Nora Thread) policy is a general marketplace policy and guide for sellers to refer to when setting up their specific shipping policy for their stores. Because products are shipped from different countries to all countries worldwide, each seller are able to provide their own shipping policy. This way, sellers are free to choose the country they ship to. They must display this information conspicuously on all their listings for transparency sake on a position where buyers can easily see it before placing orders.  Buyers are advised to review the shipping policy for the item they intend to order, and to confirm that the product they intend to buy can be shipped to their location before they place an order by reading seller’s shipping policy added to product pages.

SHIPPING COST

Sellers determine their shipping cost based on shipping carriers’ charges, sellers’ location, product location, buyers’ location, shipping method used, item weight and package dimension. Sellers have the option to offer free shipping, calculated shipping, table-rate shipping, flat-rate shipping, and local pick up where applicable.

DELIVERY TIMES

Each vendor/seller on Nora Thread determines their shipping delivery times. This allows them to consider factors that affect shipping and delivery such as: processing time, shipping carrier used, shipping method used, seller’s location, item’s ship-from location, buyer’s location, in-stock items, out-of-stock items, custom-made items, ready-to-ship items, etc.

ITEMS SHIPPED FROM USA-TO-USA DESTINATION

Items that are shipped from the USA-to-USA destinations will display both live shipping rates and delivery times on both cart and checkout pages. For this function to work effectively, buyers must first add their shipping/delivery address. This information will allow shipping carriers to calculate live shipping rates and delivery times to USA destinations. The rates, so displayed will be based on buyer’s destination, item weight and dimension, and shipping method. Buyers can choose from the displayed options according to their preferences.

ITEMS SHIPPED FROM USA TO OTHER COUNTRIES

Items that ship from the USA to other countries may not display live delivery times but may however display live shipping rates. This function, however, depends on the ship-to-country, available carriers and shipping methods. Shipping carriers and shipping methods are displayed based on carriers that offer shipping services to such destinations.

ITEMS SHIPPED FROM OUTSIDE OF USA TO OTHER COUNTRIES

Items that ship from outside of the USA to other countries may not display live shipping rates and delivery times. Sellers are free to charge their own shipping cost or offer free shipping. The shipping rates that are displayed are determined by sellers. To ensure that they do not overcharge or undercharge buyers, sellers are advised to check out with their intended shipping carriers how much they charge from their location to the countries they plan to ship to. To help them do this accurately, they can visit the carriers’ website to use their shipping calculator. They can check rates based on different package/item weight and dimension (length – width -height). Once sellers have this information, they may display it conspicuously on the product short description section when they list their products. This will be displayed for buyers to see on product page, to the right of the main product’s image in the format below:

PRODUCTS WEIGHT AND DIMENTIONS

Sellers can set up shipping classes based on item weight. They have four options to choose from: No Shipping Class, Light Packages, Medium Packages, Heavy Packages. They are to assign values to these options when they set up their store shipping policy for the first time. Once set up, they can be assigned to each product on the dropdown menu when listing. For example:

No Shipping Class (i.e. No weight assigned)

Light Packages: 1-2.99 pounds

Medium Packages: 3-5.99 pounds

Heavy Packages: 6-over pounds

UNITS OF MEASUREMENT AND WEIGHT

On Nora Thread marketplace, weights are measured and displayed in POUNDS and OUNCES (Ib) (oz). Dimensions are measured and displayed in FEET and INCHES (ft) (in). Sellers that use different metrics should convert to pounds and ounces, and feet and inches. E.g. from centimeter to pound.

SHIPPING CARRIERS

Variety of shipping carriers are available for sellers to choose from. If preferred shipping carriers and shipping methods are not seen among those available to sellers, they can add such shipping carriers on their own or contact Nora Thread support to request for such addition. Be aware that sellers may need to first create an account with preferred shipping carriers before they can use them for shipping. Shipping carriers that may be seen on Nora Thread include United States Postal Service (USPS), UPS, DHL, FEDEX, ROYAL MAIL, CANADA POST and more.

SHIPPING LABELS

Sellers with location in the USA are free to print shipping labels on Nora Thread to fulfill their orders for a fee. They also have the option to use their own shipping label plugin to fulfill orders. They may alternatively improvise and generate their own labels without subscribing to any plugin.

TRACKING INFORMATION

Regardless of the label and fulfillment chosen, sellers must provide tracking numbers and information that buyers can use to track their items. This may be added manually when labels are generated from external sources or can be automatically added when labels are generated using Nora Thread marketplace shipping labels. If labels are generated from other sources, sellers must obtain tracking numbers from the chosen shipping carrier when they deliver packages to them for onward shipment. They must also add the tracking information on Nora Thread Marketplace and send the same to buyers. Adding the information on Nora Thread allows the marketplace to keep track of fulfillment progress and follow up with buyers.

All Shipping information provided is for guide purposes only. Nora Thread and carriers do not provide guarantees of delivery dates or times. All delivery timeframes are estimates. Actual delivery times can only be provided by shipping carriers. Even then other contingencies can impact delivery such as events, holidays, and bad weather. During busy holiday periods, deliveries could take longer times.

LIABILITIES

Nora Thread cannot accept liability for any out-of-pocket expenses or other costs incurred due to failed or delayed deliveries. We do not refund delivery fees.

Nora Thread cannot accept liability for any parcels that are lost or stolen because of any specific delivery instructions left for the carrier.

MISCELLANOUS INFORMATION:

• Once an order is dispatched, full tracking details will be made available to buyers via text and/or email. As we use a tracked and signed service, please ensure a recipient is at the shipping address to sign for and receive your parcel.

• Customers are responsible for any custom charges applicable for shipments into their home country.
• Orders that include multiple items sold by multiple sellers may be shipped separately in different packages and may arrive at destinations at different times.
